The Nebraska Baseball team begins their postseason journey with their sights set on Omaha beginning this Friday. The Huskers will be playing in the double elimination regional being hosted in Chapel Hill, NC at Boshamer Stadium.
All Nebraska games from the regional can be heard on KBBN.
Nebraska’s regional begins by facing Oklahoma on Friday afternoon, with a first pitch scheduled for 4 PM central time. The meeting is the first between the former conference opponents since they met at the Shriners Children’s College Showdown on opening weekend last season. In that meeting, the Sooners came away with a 7-6 victory over the Huskers with a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning.
This weekend marks the 19th NCAA Regional appearance for the Big Red in program history, including the first back-to-back appearances since the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
Nebraska is coming off of a great Big Ten tournament title run, going 2-0 in pool play while adding two more wins in the semifinal and championship rounds to become the lowest seed to ever win the Big Ten Tournament. They are also the first team since Indiana in 2013-14 to repeat as tournament champions.
Should the Huskers advance Friday afternoon, they would play the winner of the game featuring host North Carolina and Holy Cross. That game would be at 5 PM central time on Saturday. A loss would have the Huskers playing at 11 AM on Saturday.
