Lincoln – Nebraska outfielder Jaxon Hallmark was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 baseball team on Thursday morning. As a first-team all-district honoree, Hallmark will now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot.
One of five outfielders named on the District 7 list, Hallmark excelled on the field and in the classroom for the Huskers in 2021. A first-team All-Big Ten selection, Hallmark led the team in multiple categories, including batting average (.342), hits (67), home runs (10), triples (3), stolen bases (16) and sacrifice bunts (6), while also ranking second in runs scored with 48.
The Midland, Texas, native graduated in the May with a degree in sports media & communication. A team captain in 2021, Hallmark is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and has been on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll during seven semesters.
District 7 honors Division I players from Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas.
