Coach John Cook Visits with the Media as Lady Huskers Begin Practice

As the Nebraska Women’s Volleyball team begins practice this week, head coach John Cook met with the media on Saturday to talk about the upcoming season.

Nebraska looks to have another loaded roster thanks to a highly touted recruiting class coming in and with players such as Lexi Sun and Lauren Stivrins announcing that they
would return for a sixth year of eligibility.  Coach Cook said that with all of that talent in the room all positions will have to be earned.

Nebraska volleyball senior Lauren Stivrins will return to the University of Nebraska for one more season with the Husker program.

The three-time All-America middle blocker announced Friday she will use her final year of eligibility, which the NCAA granted to student-athletes due to COVID-19 interruptions,
to spend a sixth season in Lincoln.  Stivrins is still rehabbing from an injury though and coach Cook said that there is no timetable for her return.

Nebraska will hold its red / white scrimmage on August 21st.  The Lady Huskers open the season Friday August 27th when they play Tulsa as part of the Husker Invitational at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln.
