History

In September of 2014 with only a website, Mike Flood, Brandon Aksamit and Grant Otten, launched Columbus News Team from an office on the Courthouse Square. For the first time, local athletes found themselves on live HD video with multiple camera angles and stunning instant replay. At the same time, our news service began covering stories in the Platte Valley.

Columbus News Team has grown to become a trusted news source in the community and area. We provide 7 day a week coverage of local news, sports and weather stories as well as live broadcasting of local and state events on a variety of platforms including this website and www.ncnsportsnow.com.

On December 1, 2015, Columbus News Team launched Columbus’ first ever local tv station, KMJF-LD channel 48.1. The station features locally produced news and information content and broadcasts from a tower on the Platte and Colfax county line near highway 30. The station is also known as NCN48, part of Mike Flood’s in-state hyper-local Nebraska news network of tv and radio stations.

News Channel Nebraska currently operates radio and TV stations in Norfolk, South Sioux City, Columbus, Grand Island, Beatrice, Lincoln, Fairbury, Nebraska City, Falls City and Omaha.
