District Girls Golf – Area Recap – Deibler of Mullen Qualifies for State

Area athletes competed in girls district golf tournaments which took place across the state on Monday.  The top three teams in each district qualified for the state tournament.  In addition, the top ten individual places, plus ties, in each district qualified for the state tournament.

Austin Deibler of Mullen qualified for the Class C girls state golf tournament at the C-5 tournament in Ogallala.  Deibler tied for 10th with a round of 102 to qualify.  The C-5 district champion was Alyvia Harless of Bridgeport with a low round of 89.  The three teams qualifying for state out of the C-5 district were Sidney, Valentine, and Chadron.

Broken Bow, Arcadia/Loup City, and Burwell were among the teams that competed at the C-4 district played at Lakeside Country Club at Johnson Lake.  Broken Bow placed sixth in the team standings with a 410 team score.  Burwell finished with a 470 team score.  GICC was the district team champion with a 376 team score.  Cozad and Adams Central tied for second and third with a 390.  Macy Jorgensen of Minden was the district champion with a low round of 72.  It took a round of 94 to finish in the top ten and qualify for state.  Broken Bow’s Tiana Hurlburt finished three shots outside the top ten with a round of 97.  Other Broken Bow scores included Emersyn Palmer – 100, Caylee Cook – 104, Adelyn Kirkpatrick – 109, Hallie Meyer – 119.  Burwell was led by Ava Peterson with a round of 110 and Arcadia/Loup City was represented by Raegan Skibinski who finished with a round of 127.

The Class C girls golf state championship tournament will take place at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte October 12th and 13th.
