Jackson Repeats as Big Ten Player of the Week

Nebraska senior middle blocker Andi Jackson was named the Big Ten Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference office announced on Monday.

Jackson becomes the third Husker to receive Big Ten Player of the Week recognition in back-to-back weeks, joining Madi Kubik in 2021 (Oct. 11, Oct. 18) and Kelsey Robinson in 2013 (Nov. 4, Nov. 11, Nov. 18).

Jackson’s all-around performance led the top-ranked Huskers to a 2-0 week at No. 16 Penn State and Maryland. On the week, the senior averaged 3.83 kills per set and 2.00 blocks per set to become one of two players nationally with at least 3.50 kills per set and 2.00 blocks per set.

Across the two matches, Jackson totaled 23 kills and hit .526 on 38 swings while adding 12 blocks on the defensive end.

On Thursday, Jackson hit .625 with 11 kills and one error on 16 swings while posting a season-high seven blocks in Nebraska’s sweep at No. 16 Penn State.

The senior recorded 12 kills, six aces, five blocks and four digs in Saturday’s sweep of Maryland. Jackson tied a program record in the rally-scoring era with six aces in a three-set match, tying Annika Albrecht (2015), Michelle Lynch (2004) and Anna Schrad (2002).
