Nebraska senior quarterback Anthony Colandrea was honored Monday, as he was named a member of the Davey O’Brien Great 8 for this past weekend’s performance against Maryland.
He was one of 16 quarterbacks nationally recognized this week as part of their “Davey Double” on Monday. With this honor, Colandrea is added to the O’Brien Award Midseason Watch List.
Colandrea accounted for 346 yards of total offense and three touchdowns in Nebraska’s 48-23 win over Maryland on Saturday. He completed 26-of-39 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for a career-high 108 yards on 10 carries. It marked the third time in five games that Colandrea has thrown for at least three touchdowns, while the 108 yards marked the first 100-yard rushing day by a Husker quarterback since 2023.
On the season, Colandrea has completed 65.7 percent of his passes (94-of-143) for 1,142 yards and 13 touchdowns, as he ranks ninth nationally in passing TDs. Colandrea guides a balanced Husker attack that is ninth nationally in scoring offense at 43.2 points per game.
The Huskers return to action on Saturday when they host No. 7 Indiana. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. (central). The game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM with coverage on the Huskers Radio Network beginning at 9 a.m.
