The Broken Bow football team collected its second win of the season with a 27-20 win over Kearney Catholic on the road Friday night. Cobe Wells had three touchdown runs and Cooper White had a 1 yard touchdown run for the Indians. Broken Bow led 14-13 at halftime but Kearney Catholic scored on an 89 yard touchdown pass on the first play of the third quarter to take the lead 20-14. Broken Bow responded with a touchdown drive to take the lead back 21-20. One of the biggest plays of the game came in the fourth quarter when Broken Bow punter Adrian Gibbons fielded a low snap and was forced to take off and run resulting in a first down to keep the drive alive. Broken Bow would then punch it in for a touchdown to extend the lead to 27-20. The Kearney Catholic offense marched down the field late in the fourth quarter but the Broken Bow defense would hold on 4th down and short in the red zone in the final seconds to preserve the win. Broken Bow improves to 2-3 on the season and will return home next Friday to face Minden for homecoming. Minden suffered their first loss of the season Friday night falling to Adams Central 10-7.
