Local Teammates chapters and the Runza location in Broken Bow are teaming up on Tuesday (September 22) for ‘Teammates Day’, where a portion of purchases made through the day will support the program.
Chapters in Broken Bow, Anselmo-Merna, and Callaway will benefit from the partnership and Teammates board members and mentors from those local chapters will be at the Broken Bow Runza location through the day helping in the restaurant.
Teammates is a mentorship program where mentors and mentees connect weekly for between 30 and 60 minutes during the school day. It was founded in 1991 by Coach Tom Osborne and his wife Nancy when 22 Husker football players mentored middle school students in Lincoln. Today, there are chapters in more than six states.
