South Loup hosted Sandhills Valley for an area football showdown on Thursday night in Arnold. South Loup would collect its first win of the season with a 40-6 victory. South Loup’s Tyson Schacher and Elijah Cool each had two touchdown runs in the first half to help build a 28-0 lead for the Bobcats at halftime. In the second half, Tyson Schacher collected his third touchdown run of the night and Jett Morgan scored on a five yard touchdown run for South Loup. Sandhills Valley got on the board late in the game when Ezekiel Goosey broke loose for a 38 yard touchdown run. South Loup improves to 1-1 on the season and Sandhills Valley drops to 0-3.
In other area action from Thursday night, SEM held off Ansley/Litchfield in an area six-man battle 47-13.
