Sheila N. Osterhoudt, age 37, of Gillette, Wyoming, formerly of Broken Bow, Nebraska, is finally at peace after a difficult time with her health. Sheila passed away on August 28, 2026, at UNMC Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. A visitation and time to greet the family will be held Thursday evening from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary.

Sheila Nicole was born on July 17, 1989, in Broken Bow, Nebraska, to Stanley and Donna (Porter) Osterhoudt. She grew up in Broken Bow and graduated from Broken Bow High School.
For the people who knew Sheila growing up, she will always be part of the memories tied to Broken Bow, the people she grew up with, and a time in life that feels like it went by far too fast. As the years passed, life took her in different directions, and she eventually made her home in Gillette, Wyoming, where she continued building a life and family of her own.
Sheila was a mother to six children, and that will always be one of the biggest parts of the story she leaves behind. Her life was full of both love and loss, and she carried more than her share of hard days. She knew heartbreak, including the loss of her husband, Sean, and her brother, Nicholas, but her life was so much more than the difficult things she faced.
Sheila was a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister, a mother, a fiancée, a friend, and someone whose name is tied to countless memories for the people who knew her. She had a story that was not perfect, polished, or easy, but it was real. There were good times, hard times, laughter, mistakes, friendships, family, and moments that the people who loved her will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
For those who grew up with Sheila, there is something especially hard about saying goodbye to someone who was part of the same years, the same places, and the same memories. Thirty-seven years was not enough. While there are parts of her story that were painful, those parts do not get to be the only things that define her. Sheila was loved, she mattered, and she will be remembered.
Sheila is survived by her father, Stanley Osterhoudt of Scottsbluff; her mother, Donna Porter of Broken Bow; her children, Triston Osterhoudt, Stormy Newman, Jaysean Newman, Cathy Newman, Brayln Osterhoudt, and Jayce Osterhoudt; her fiancé, Michael Duncan of Gillette, Wyoming; her siblings, Joshua Osterhoudt of Broken Bow, Nathan Osterhoudt, Eric Osterhoudt of Scottsbluff, and Johnathan Osterhoudt; and her grandmother, Roma Porter of Broken Bow.
Sheila was preceded in death by her husband, Sean Newman; her brother, Nicholas Osterhoudt; and her grandparents, Julia Russell and Jim Porter.
