The Nebraska High School Rodeo fall season continued this past weekend with rodeos in Bloomfield on Saturday and O’Neill on Sunday.
Among the area highlights in Bloomfield, Broken Bow’s Kelstyn Lindner was the bareback champion with a winning score of 72 and was runner-up in the bull riding with a 65 point ride. Lindner would go on to finish third in boys all around standings on Saturday. Emerson Thorberg of Mullen was champion in the breakaway with a winning time of 2.31 seconds and placed fifth in the pole bending to finish runner-up in the girls all around standings. Other area highlights on Saturday included Cotter Johnston of Stapleton winning the steer wrestling in a time of 6.53 seconds and Kallan Cox of Purdum was first in the barrel racing with a time of 16.456 seconds. Shaylee Milleson of Dunning was runner-up in the pole bending.
Area highlights on Sunday in O’Neill included Kelstyn Lindner of Broken Bow winning the barebacks with a score of 73. Lindner was runner-up in the bull riding to finish third in the boys all around. Cotter Johnston of Stapleton won the steer wrestling on Sunday with a time of 5.66 seconds. Johnston also had top ten finishes in the team roping and tie down roping to finish fourth in the all-around.
