Three criminal cases heard in Custer County court, two continued

BROKEN BOW, Neb.— Three criminal cases were on the docket for Custer County court on Monday.

Patrick Waldner, age 23 of Brookings, South Dakota appeared in court for a first appearance facing four counts connected to events on the date of June 14, 2026.

Two counts were class IV felonies, both for possession of a controlled substance. One count was for oxycodone and the other for alprazolam. Waldner faces a maximum of two years imprisonment plus 12 months post release supervision, a $10,000 fine, or both on each charge. The other charges, possession of one ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, are both infractions with $300 and $100 fines respectively.

Matthew Furrow was appointed as Waldner’s attorney and a PR bond of $1,000 was established as well as a preliminary hearing for September 28 at 2 PM.

Also in county court on Monday, cases for Trevor Millsap, age 20 of Broken Bow, and Joseph Mixon, age 42 of Newport, NE were continued.
