Teen ejected in rollover accident north of Arnold

ARNOLD— First responders were called to the scene of a single vehicle rollover accident north of Arnold on Sunday as a result of phone crash detection.

The Custer County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) says Wylliam Smith, age 18 of Springfield, NE was traveling southbound on Dunning Road when his Dodge pickup left the roadway and struck a guardrail before entering the ditch and rolling, causing Smith to be ejected from the vehicle.

Smith was transported to Great Plains Hospital in North Platte before being taken by fixed wing aircraft to Omaha. CCSO has indicated that alcohol is suspected to have contributed to the accident.

The Arnold Volunteer Fire Department, Arnold Ambulance, and Custer County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene.
