The Nebraska Department of Agriculture and the Rural Response Hotline are teaming up to offer free farm and ranch clinics across the state starting tomorrow. Broken Bow on September 15 is among the locations for the clinics.
Farmers, ranchers, and their families will have access to one-on-one sessions with an experienced ag law attorney and ag finance counselor. The roughly hour long sessions serve as a chance for issues that might be affecting farms or ranches to be brought up.
Financial and operational issues, beginning farmer programs, real estate and lease matters, succession planning, fence law, farm loans and loan programs, property right, and debtor/creditor law are popular subjects in the sessions.
Clinics were held earlier this year in close proximity to planting season, which organizers understood kept many from attending. They ask that anybody interested in sessions make that interest known so they can have a head count. Contact the Nebraska Rural Response Hotline at 1-800-464-0258.
