Information Released Regarding Grain Bin Fatality in Sherman County

In a media release, the Sherman County Sheriff shared information regarding a grain bin fatality that occurred in Sherman County.

On July 28th Region 26 Emergency Management and 911 Dispatch received a 911 call at 5:07 p.m. requesting grain bin extrication equipment at a location south of Ashton, NE.  Several local fire departments were paged to assist with manpower and equipment.  Departments responding included the following fire departments: Ashton, Loup City, Rockville, Arcadia, Farwell, and Boelus as well as the Ashton-Rockville-Loup City Coop Ambulance, and AirCare.

The release stated that the individual was located and recovered from the grain bin.  The name of the individual was not released pending notification of next of kin.
