Broken Bow Seniors Close Out Regular Season with Win Over Ord

The Broken Bow American Legion seniors baseball team closed out the regular season with a win against Ord Monday night at Broken Bow’s Paul Brown Field.  The Bow seniors led from start to finish scoring three runs in their first at bat adding a run in the third, two in the fourth and three more in the sixth to secure a 9-1 win.

Broken Bow’s nine runs came on ten hits.  Kayden Record had a 3 for 4 night with one RBI.  Drew Ellis was 2 for 3 with two RBI.  Carter Hall was 2 for 4 with two RBI and Jackson Hall finished 2 for 4 with two runs scored. Xach Lowry finished with two RBI and Dominic Nowak scored two runs and drove in a run as Broken Bow collected its 16th win of the season.

Dominic Nowak picked up the win on the mound pitching four solid innings to start the game giving up just one run on three hits with three strikeouts.  Drew Ellis came on in relief and did not give up a hit in two innings of scoreless relief.

The Broken Bow seniors now prepare for the Class B Area 5  tournament which begins Friday in O’Neill.  Broken Bow enters the tournament as the #5 seed and will face #4 seed O’Neill at 7 p.m. Friday evening.  All Broken Bow games from the area tournament will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.
