Janice Brown, age 63
April 18, 1963 - July 3, 2026

Janice Marie Brown of Arcadia, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the age of 63, following an automobile accident.

Born on April 18, 1963, in Ord, Nebraska, to Eldon and Janet (Bogus) Psota, Janice attended Vinton Grade School and graduated from Ord High School in 1981.

On December 5, 1981, she married Raymond Brown, with whom she shared a deep love for cattle and farming. Together, they raised three children, JenaRae, RayLynn, and Johnathan.

Janice was known for her unwavering work ethic and compassionate heart. She poured love into everything she touched, always making everyone feel welcome; a stranger to no one and a friend to all. She had a deep love and passion for all animals. Some of her happiest memories were spent on the farm with family and grandkids and sharing laughter with family and friends.

Janice found joy in cooking and baking, teasingly described by her children as someone who could “taste the pages” while browsing recipes. She enjoyed searching for treasures while thrifting and attending garage sales; and watching movies like Tombstone, Twister, Jurassic Park, and White Chicks.

Janice’s warmth, generosity, sense of humor, warm hugs, and countless memories she created will be cherished by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Johnathan Brown of Arcadia, RayLynn (Tim) Coble of Broken Bow, and JenaRae (Tyler) Kelley of Seward Nebraska; her grandchildren, CallieRae and Lexie Kelley and a brother, James Psota of Ord.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Psota; father, Eldon Psota; her husband, Raymond Brown who passed away on August 8, 2021; her sister, Christine Psota and a sister-in-law, Sandy Psota.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Arcadia Methodist Church in Arcadia, Nebraska. Interment will be in the Ord Bohemian Cemetery at Ord, Nebraska Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7: 00 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church.  To honor Janice, casual dress attire is suggested.
