Terry Glaze, age 78

July 27, 1947 - June 5, 2026

Terry Glaze was born July 27, 1947, in Broken Bow, Neb. to Maxine and Keith Glaze. He died in Lincoln on June 5, 2026.

Terry graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1965 and especially enjoyed Latin and Spanish classes with Mrs. Schwengle and working on the school newspaper. He joined DeMolay in his sophomore year. He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Broken Bow.

Terry earned a diploma from Brown Institute of Broadcasting and Electronics in Minneapolis. This was followed by a 40-year career in communications. He loved his 20 years at WOW-TV in Omaha.

While in Omaha, Terry earned a Commercial Pilot License and Flight Instructor Certificate. He flew with the Civil Air Patrol with the rank of Captain. He and his cousin Dick Russell flew a Cessna 172 to Anchorage, Alaska and back – the trip of a lifetime! Terry also found the time to attend UNO, earning his BA in 1985.

While employed in Lincoln at NETV, Terry earned an MA in Spanish, both while overcoming colon cancer. He started his second career as a high school Spanish teacher, teaching at Mullen, Anselmo-Merna and Callaway before retiring during the Covid pandemic.

In 1986, Terry entered an alcoholism treatment program at Immanuel Hospital, where he learned a new way to think and live. His AA community was an important part of his life wherever he was, helping him complete almost 39 years of sobriety while helping others along the way

Terry was known for his unique sense of humor, quirky personality, intelligence, and caring support for those who knew him as a friend.

He is survived by his sister, Nancy (Steve) Kneipple; niece, Sarah (Steve) Cantor of Lake Oswego, Ore.; and grandnieces and nephews, Shayla and Cyrus Kneipple and David James, and Dorothy Cantor. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, John Kneipple.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 19th at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow.
