The Broken Bow American Legion seniors baseball team faced Malcolm at a neutral site in Ord on Saturday. Malcolm was able to quiet the Broken Bow bats and used a six run fourth inning to key a 12-0 win. The Bow seniors were held to just three hits. Collecting hits for Broken Bow were Dominic Nowak, Carter Hall, and Xach Lowry.
Broken Bow returned to action on Sunday when they traveled to Imperial as part of a juniors and seniors doubleheader. The seniors bounced back with a win over Imperial. Broken Bow led 7-5 after five innings but scored three big insurance runs in the sixth inning on their way to a 10-6 victory. Kanzas Kellum was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Dominic Nowak was 2 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI and Xach Lowry also had a multi-hit game finishing 2 for 4 with a run scored. Kayden Record finished with 4 RBI as the Bow seniors improve to 12-8 on the season.
In the juniors game, Imperial edged Broken Bow in a high scoring affair 12-10. The teams went back and forth. The game was tied 6-6 after five innings and was decided in a wild sixth inning. Broken Bow scored four runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead but wasn’t able to hang on as Imperial answered with six runs in the bottom of the sixth to collect the win. Jake Bumgarner and Aiden Page each had a multi-hit game for the Bow juniors. Bumgarner was 2 for 2 with a double, a run scored, and two RBI. Page finished 2 for 3 with three runs scored and one run batted in.
Broken Bow is scheduled to travel to Loomis for a juniors and seniors doubleheader on Tuesday.
