Ansley’s Muddy Creek Celebration is June 26-28

June 26-28 hosts Ansley’s Muddy Creek Celebration. 

The first day of the celebration, Friday, starts with the opening of The Ansley Story at 10 a.m. and the ribbon cutting at 7 p.m. The River City Carnival is open at 4:30 p.m. Food Trucks on Main Street also open at 4:30. The Ansley Fire and Rescue opens the beer garden at 6 p.m. in the Ansley Community Building. Goat Roping starts at 7 with registration beginning at 6:30, as well as Chicken Pie Bingo put on by the Ansley Jr. Livestock 4-H Club. 

The Burrito 5k starts at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, with registration at 8:30 at the Ansley Walking Trail. The 4’s Volleyball Tournament for 3rd through 12th grades starts at 8:30 a.m. at Ansley Park. Common Ground Coffee, Lemonade Shack, and Homemade Ice Cream will be available at Ansley Park. The Flatwater Bank Hotdog Feed starts at 11:30 a.m. and is a free-will donation with proceeds going to the Muddy Creek Celebration. 

The She Shed Craft and Vendor Show, and the Car Show will be held at Ansley Park. Bounce houses will also be up at the park. At 12:30, sign up for the fishing tournament, which starts at 1 with prizes at 2:30. Shayla Varney, a Muddy Creek Celebration organizer, said the tournament is for the kids and they have multiple types of prizes.

“The fishing tournament is for the younger kids…Pretty much every kid will come away with something,” stated Varney.

River City Carnival will be open from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to midnight. This year, the Muddy Creek Parade will be at 5 p.m., with line-up at 4. The Ansley Community Building will host The Soda Lab at 4, Community Supper following the parade, and Pluck-A-Duck. 

To close the day is the beer garden, cornhole tournament, and music entertainment by Brady James and then West Wind. 

Ansley Park hosts Sunday’s events. The sand volleyball tournament starts at 9 a.m. Registration must be completed by Saturday, June 27. To do so, contact Kirsten Scott. Community Church will be hosted by the Ansley Christian Church at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m. is the Burger Bash with proceeds going to the Spartan Foundation, and at 1 p.m. is the horseshoe tournament.
