Bow Seniors Sweep Doubleheader Against Jersey’s of Kearney

The Broken Bow American Legion seniors baseball team faced the Jersey’s seniors of Kearney in a doubleheader at Paul Brown Field on Monday night.  Broken Bow took game one by a final score of 6-0.  Jackson Hall started on the mound pitching 3 and 2/3rds scoreless innings  to pick up the win giving up just two hits and striking out two.  Colton Uhlig pitched three innings of scoreless relief and Kanzas Kellum came on in the seventh inning to get the final out of the game.  Offensively, Drew Ellis had two of Broken Bow’s three hits finishing 2 for 3 with a run scored and one run batted in.

In game two, Broken Bow was the visiting team and set the tone early sending 15 batters to the plate in the first inning scoring 10 runs.  Bow added another run in the second inning and four more in the third inning to close out the game with a 15-0 win.  Jackson Hall and Kayden Record combined for four of Broken Bow’s seven hits.  Hall was 2 for 2 with three runs scored and Record was 2 for 2 with a run scored and three RBI.

The Bow seniors have now won seven of their last eight and are 11-6 overall.  Broken Bow will host Minden Tuesday night for a juniors and seniors doubleheader beginning with the juniors game at 5:30 and the seniors to follow at 8.
