The 49th annual Sertoma 8-Man All-Star football game takes place this Saturday at 6 p.m. in Hastings at Lloyd Wison Field. Recent graduates from eight-man football teams in Nebraska will get the opportunity to represent their teams once again. The rosters will once again be split between east and west and will feature top notch talent from across the state.
The KCNI/KBBN coverage area will be represented well on the west team roster. Among the area athletes scheduled to suit up for the west team include Drake Doss (Anselmo-Merna), Brogan Setlik (Arcadia/Loup City), Tate Kvanvig (Mullen), Maurice Robinson (Sandhills/Thedford), and Mace Beran (Twin Loup).
The west coaching staff has strong area ties as well. The head coach of the west team this year is Andy Seamann of Brady. He will be assisted by Elm Creek head coach Blake Schwarz who is a graduate of Arnold high school and played 8-man football for South Loup. Also assisting will be Loomis head coach and former Mullen Bronco Tye Spies. Ryan Sanger of Brady rounds out the west team coaching staff.
The east team will be coached by Matt Kuchar of Bloomfield. Assisting will be Kory Kahlandt of EMF, Luke Ericson of Osceola, and Steve Heimes of Wynot.
