Deb was born April 29,1954, in Broken Bow, NE to Max and Donna (Brown) Mattox.  She attended Rose Valley School and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1972.  Deb graduated with her degree from Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, KS.

Deb was a hardworking, dedicated woman.  She worked for 20 years for Central Nebraska Electric Co. in Ansley, NE. Before that she worked for 20 years for Custer County Chief in Broken Bow, NE. At home on the farm, she was always willing to help wherever she could. She was strong in her faith, and served many positions at her current church, Broken Bow Church of God.  She also played piano and sang in the church choir throughout the years.

Deb was a quiet, fun-loving lady.  She loved her family and friends so much.  She would do anything for any of them.  She wanted to spend as much time with them as she could. So, she would adapt to whatever they were into.  Just a few examples are riding four wheelers, sledding, roller coasters, sports of any kind, movies, WWE, and haunted woods.  It tickled her that they fought over their “Aunt Debbie”.

Deb loved all animals except mice.  Cats were her favorite and she had many of them.  She could never resist a stray.  She enjoyed traveling, shopping (especially Black Friday), gardening flowers, and pulling pranks. A few examples are multiple layer gift wrapping and gifts of $1 million dollars (fake money). She was very competitive, especially playing cards or board games with family.  Deb loved her three brothers very much but held her own with them.  She was never afraid to try to assemble things on her own.  She was a very independent strong woman.

Deb is survived by brothers David (Stacey) of Broken Bow, NE and Phillip (Dana) Mattox of Lubbock, TX.  Nieces and nephews Jessica Anderson of Levelland, TX, Michael (Kelli) Mattox of Benton, AR, Nicole (Tommie) Sims of Ackerly, TX, Bryan (Alicia) Mattox of Wynne, AR, Samson (JoAnn) Mattox of Lubbock, TX, Justin (Jami) Mattox of Broken Bow, NE and Mandi Mattox of Broken Bow, NE.  Plus, many great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.  Several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Donna, brother Russ and infant sister Gaylene.  Her grandparents Bunt and Virgina Mattox and Bob and Evelyn Brown.
