The Nebraska Department of Agriculture and the Rural Response Hotline are teaming up to offer a free farm and ranch clinic next week in Broken Bow at the Extension Office in the basement of the Custer County courthouse.
Designed for farmers, ranchers, and their families, confidential one-on-one sessions are held with an experienced ag law attorney and ag finance counselor. During the roughly hour long session, attendees can bring up whatever issues might be affecting their farm or ranch.
Generally, discussions often involve estate and succession planning, financial and operational issues, beginning farmer programs, real estate and lease matters, fence law, property right, farm loans and loan programs, and debtor/creditor law.
Organizers told KCNI/KBBN they understand that it’s a busy season for farmers and ranchers, especially considering ongoing planting of fields. They encourage anybody interested in attending to indicate they’d like to do so as soon as possible so they can have a head count by calling the Nebraska Rural Response Hotline at 1-800-464-0258.
Another upcoming date for the free farm and ranch clinics is Tuesday, May 26 in Norfolk.
