The No. 6 Nebraska softball team outhit Minnesota, 15 to three, and downed the Golden Gophers, 11-2 in six innings on Sunday afternoon in Minneapolis, Minn.

With the win, NU improved to 36-6 on the season with a 17-1 mark in Big Ten play, which puts the Big Red at first in the current conference standings.

Jesse Farrell led the Husker offense with three RBIs, a double and a homer. Jordy Frahm added two RBIs and a home run, while Hannah Coor was 2-for-2 and drew two walks. Kacie Hoffmann and Samantha Bland had two hits apiece.

Frahm (13-4) earned the win in the circle after throwing four scoreless innings with six strikeouts and no walks. Hannah Camenzind grabbed the start, tossed the first two innings and allowed three hits.

Nebraska opened up the scoring in the top of the first, as Coor walked, went to second on a wild pitch and third on a H. Camenzind single, and snuck home when Camenzind was caught stealing.

Minnesota took a 2-1 lead with two runs in the bottom of the second.

Farrell knocked a two-run shot to give NU a 3-2 lead in the top of the second.

In the top of the fourth, Farrell doubled, went to third on a Bacon single and eventually scored on a Lauren Camenzind groundout RBI. A Frahm two-run shot made the score 6-2.

Bland singled in the top of the fifth and stole second before scoring on a Bella Bacon two-out double to extend the lead to 7-2.

The Huskers plated four runs in the top of the sixth to extend the lead to 11-2 and round out the scoring. Coor singled and went to third on an Ava Kuszak single. Kuszak advanced to second on a Gopher bobble in the outfield and Coor scored on an error by the UM shortstop. Kuszak crossed the plate on a Hoffmann double and Kennadi Williams, who pinch ran for Hoffmann, scored on a Farrell single. Bland doubled to send Farrell across the plate.
