Work to start Monday on S-86B, Halsey Spur bridge

HALSEY, Neb.— Work is scheduled to begin, weather permitting, this upcoming Monday on Spur 86B and the Halsey Spur Bridge, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT). The project is just off Highway 2 and goes over the Middle Loup River.

The project will include asphalt removal, bridge replacement, grading, concrete pavement, earthwork, and seeding. Lane closures and temporary traffic signals will help maintain traffic alongside an 11 foot width restriction.

Completion of the project is anticipated to be in September of this year. NDOT asks motorists to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
