BROKEN BOW, Neb.— First responders were called to the scene of a one vehicle rollover accident on Wednesday morning near Broken Bow on Memorial Drive.
The sole occupant of the rolled vehicle, a white 2003 Dodge Durango, was Karla Whittington, age 23 of Miller. Whittington called 911 herself just before 8:30 AM, indicating she had rolled her vehicle on Memorial Drive east of the hospital. The vehicle was seen much later by KCNI/KBBN on the south side of the road at the bottom of a steep embankment laying in a field.
Whittington told dispatch that the drivers side of the vehicle was on the ground and that she was okay but couldn’t get out of the vehicle. Broken Bow Fire and Rescue, Broken Bow Police, and the Custer County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene. Whittington, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was helped from the vehicle.
Custer County Sheriff Dan Osmond says that it is believed at this time that slick conditions contributed to the accident.
