Friends of Julie Toline, and Mike and Paula Booker invite everyone in the community to join in supporting the three Broken Bow residents, who have all been diagnosed with cancer.
A free will offering pancake feed and silent auction will be held Sunday, March 8, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Broken Bow Municipal Building. Proceeds will be divided among the three local cancer patients to help them with medical expenses.
“This event is sponsored by friends of Julie, Mike and Paula,” explained Carol Allen. “When we learned that they had all been diagnosed with cancer, we knew that we wanted to help.”

In addition, Deb Bryner has made & donated a quilt to be used for the fundraising efforts for Toline. Friends can “Donate to Encourage” Julie by signing their name on the quilt for a minimum donation of $10 or more. The quilt will be located at Nebraska Pasture Door on the west side of the Broken Bow Square until the time of the benefit on March 8.
Those unable to attend the fundraiser can still help by contributing to benefit accounts at local banks. A Julie Toline Benefit Account has been established at Nebraska State Bank and a Paula Booker Benefit Account (for Paula and Mike) is located at Custer Federal.
Bridget Douglass, Donna Hilkemeier, Abby Hilkemeier and Vicki Oxford are collecting donations for the silent auction. Those interested in donating can contact Bridget at 720-505-1275, Donna at 308-870-0563, Abby at 308-870-1561 or Vicki at 308-870-2722.
“We’ll take donations right up until the day of the event,” Bridget said.
Anyone who has something to donate can contact one of the organizers and they will be glad to stop and pick it up. Auction donations can also be dropped off at Prairie Eyecare, Custer Federal, Palmer Monument or Nebraska Pasture Door.
