CALLAWAY— The Custer County Sheriff’s Office says an 81-year-old Callaway man was pronounced deceased at the scene of an accident Wednesday evening west of Callaway on Rye Valley Road.
Deputies responding to the scene just before 7 PM located a single vehicle that had been involved in a rollover. The sole occupant of the vehicle, Marland Peterson of Callaway, was ejected when his vehicle overturned in the west ditch after failing to navigate a curve in the road.
The investigation determined that Peterson was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The Custer County Sheriff’s Office extended their thoughts and prayers to the family.
