Community Invited to Sunday Dinner at the Prairie Pioneer Center

The Prairie Pioneer Center is bringing back a community classic. This Sunday, February 15, join the Prairie Pioneer Center for a Roast Beef Dinner, served from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

According to Prairie Pioneer Center Director Cathy Larson, the monthly beef dinner is something that used to be a regular event.

“It’s something we have done in the past,” said Larson, “probably before COVID, but we are going to try doing it again.”

Everyone is welcome to come for lunch, though Larson noted a heads-up about how many will be in attendance would be appreciated.

“If you could just give us a call and say, ‘hey, I’m bringing in my family, there’ll be five of us’. We just want to have enough roast beef because we are furnishing the roast beef and the potatoes and gravy.”

While the Center is providing the main attractions at dinner, anyone who would like to bring a salad or desert is welcome to do so.

“We’re asking for volunteers to give me a call if they would like to bring in salad or dessert,” said Larson. “Dessert this time, we decided to make it easy and ask for brownies. With the ice cream machine, we’ll do brownie sundays!”

Following lunch, diners are welcomed to stick around for the monthly game of pitch as well.

A free will donation will be accepted at the dinner, to help raise funds for the continued operation of the Center. To contact the Prairie Pioneer Center to claim your seat for Sunday’s roast beef dinner, and let Cathy know if you’ll be bringing salad or brownies, call 308-872-6121.
