Structure Fire Claims Home in South Broken Bow Wednesday Night

The Broken Bow Fire Department and Broken Bow Ambulance Service were dispatched to a structure fire in the 600 block of South N Street at about 9:36 PM, Wednesday, February 4.

According to a statement released by the Fire Department, crews arrived on scene and worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fire. The occupants of the home had evacuated prior to the arrival of fire and EMS crews. The incident was brought under control, and units cleared the scene at approximately 2:34 AM.

There were no human fatalities as a result of the fire, and no first responders were injured during the incident.

A total of 20 fire personnel and 7 EMS personnel responded, along with 4 fire trucks and 2 ambulances.

The Broken Bow Fire Department extends their thanks to the Broken Bow Ambulance Service, Broken Bow Police Department, Custer County Sheriff’s Office, Broken Bow Electrical and Water Departments, and Black Hills Energy for their assistance and support during this incident.

Broken Bow Fire Chief Dustin Watson indicated the coordination and support of these departments was instrumental in ensuring scene safety and an effective response.

The Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office is now investigating the fire.
