Area Wrestlers Compete at Elm Creek Girls Wrestling Invitational / SEM Places Third and Broken Bow Fourth in Team Standings

Elm Creek hosted its girls wrestling invitational on Friday.  Sedwick County/Fleming Girls won the team title with 169.5 points followed by Southern Valley/Arapahoe in second.  SEM and Broken Bow each placed in the top five.  SEM was third with 98 points and Broken Bow was fourth with 88.  Broken Bow placed four wrestlers in the top four of their weight class including two individual champions.  Zoe Jones was champion at 115 lbs. and Ida Bumgarner claimed the title at 190.  Lailah Jones was runner up at 120 and Alexis Pflaster placed fourth at 145 lbs. for the Lady Indians.  SEM’s Olivia McDonald was champion at 120 lbs.  Other top four finishes for SEM included Lily Hrasky 3rd at 125, Ellie Scoville was runner up at 155, and Sofia McDonald was third at 170 lbs.  Arcadia/Loup City had three wrestlers place in the top four of their weight class.  Rylee Kursave was champion at 170 lbs.  Ashlyn Gappa was third at 140, and Addyson Kursave placed fourth at 155.  Other area highlights included Brett Buss of Burwell finishing runner up at 235 lbs.
