Melham Medical Center Officially Announces Acquisition of Central Nebraska Medical Clinic

BROKEN BOW, Neb – The Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center is proud to announce the acquisition of Central Nebraska Medical Clinic (CNMC), effective January 1, 2026. The new partners are excited to take this step forward in ensuring continued access to high-quality, compassionate healthcare for the communities they serve.

Through this acquisition, CNMC providers and staff will join the Melham Medical Center team, allowing for a transition of care and the continued delivery of trusted, patient-centered medical services. Melham Medical Center says patients can expect the same familiar faces and exceptional care they’ve come to rely on, now as one integrated organization.

“We are excited to welcome the Central Nebraska Medical Clinic team to the Melham family,” said Kyle Kellum, CEO of Melham Medical Center. “Both organizations share a long history of dedication to our patients and community. Joining forces allows us to continue that legacy while expanding what we can offer together.”

The integration of CNMC reaffirms both organizations’ ongoing commitment to rural healthcare excellence and community well-being. As personnel are added through the beginning of the year, Kellum said they are looking for caregivers with a specific focus.

“It takes up the right kind of person,” said Kellum. “A lot of family practice providers come out of school that then go on to specialize into a specific area. But the goal is to get somebody that understands rural, and wants to be in a rural area. To get somebody that understands what it’s like to take care of the community all the time, those are the gems that we’re looking for.”

Patients of Central Nebraska Medical Clinic will experience no disruption in care. Current appointments, providers, and contact information will remain the same during the transition period.

Services provided by the Melham Medical Center, including specialty clinics, IV infusion, and emergency services will likewise continue to be provided, with enhancements in care yet to come. Next month, a team of dedicated providers will be added to the ER staff.

“Come February 1st, we will have really another five days of clinic access just with the same number of clinic providers that we’ve had,” Kellum noted, “just because they don’t have to cover the ER – we’ll have a separate set of providers there.”
