Girls Area Wrestling Recap 12/19

Broken Bow, SEM, and Mullen were among the teams that competed at the Valentine Invite on Friday.  Among the area highlights, Broken Bow’s Ida Bumgarner claimed the title at 190 lbs. winning by fall over Jazleen Alvarez of Hastings in the championship match.  SEM received runner up finishes from Olivia McDonald at 120 lbs., Lily Hrasky at 125, and Ellie Scoville at 155.  Joselyn Alspaugh placed 3rd at 110 lbs.  Georgia Wingebach of Mullen placed 4th at 130 lbs.

Arcadia/Loup City, Sandhills/Thedford, and Burwell competed at the EPPJ girls invite.  Among the area highlights, Rylee Kursave claimed the 170 lbs. championship winning by fall over Libby Evans of EPPJ in the championship match.  Mattee Zutavern of Sandhills/Thedford was champion at 190 lbs. winning by injury default over Kyah Bruhn of Summerland in the championship match.  HayLynn Glidden of Sandhills/Thedford was runner-up at 120 lbs.  Burwell placed two in the top four of their weight class with Brett Buss finishing 2nd at 235 lbs. and Shaelynn Amos was 4th at 190.
