On Thursday, November 6, Food Bank for the Heartland will have a Mobile Food Pantry available in Mason City starting at 3:00 PM. The Mobile Pantry will be located at the First Baptist Church, 687 Prentiss St.
A mobile pantry is a traveling food pantry that delivers food directly to families in need for a one-day distribution. The goal of Food Bank for the Heartland is to provide food where there is a high need but limited resources.
Food will be pre-boxed and ready for this drive-up service. Volunteers will load items directly into your vehicle. The Mobile Food Pantry will be open until all supplies have been exhausted.
Food Bank for the Heartland works with more than 500 Network Partners, including pantries, schools, churches, emergency shelters, and other non-profit organizations to supply emergency and supplemental food to children, families, seniors, and veterans in need. In FY 2024, Food Bank for the Heartland distributed 24.9 million meals across its service area.
There are no requirements and no cost to obtain food from the Mobile Food Pantry – all are welcome. For more information call Luann at 308.293.6207 or Irma at 308293.8532.
