Street plan, Eagle Crest payment, City Administrator raise to be discussed by Broken Bow City Council Tuesday night

Broken Bow City Council will meet tonight starting at 6 PM at the Broken Bow Municipal Building.

Street Superintendent Steve Parr will give an update on the one and six year street plan. A major project on the plan includes is a $2.6 million Linden Avenue project from Memorial Drive to Maple drive for concrete, grading, storm sewer, and erosion control work. Other projects range from estimated costs as low as $75,000 to $2.5 million.

In new business tonight, Council will consider the Interlocal Agreement between the city and the Broken Bow Airport Authority for the upcoming budget year. The tax requirement is $26,000, split between Custer County and the City of Broken Bow.

The authorization for signature on the Municipal Annual Certification of Program compliance to the Nebraska Board of Public Roads Classifications and standards will be discussed next.

Two agenda items regarding the Eagle Crest subdivision project are on tonight’s agenda. First, a change order for a price adjustment down nearly $10,000 with Myers Construction. The other is for a payment of over $334,000 to Myers Construction for work completed from May to July.

A date will be set for the budget hearing for the upcoming fiscal year tonight. A budget workshop is already set for this Thursday at Noon at the Municipal Building.

Last on tonight’s agenda is an amendment to the employment contract of City Administrator David Schmidt, specifically for an increase in salary to $107,500 following a performance evaluation that was held June 24. Details in the amendment state that the original contract refers to ‘salary adjustments that are provided or required by the Employer’s compensation policies’, which was intended to refer to a Cost-of-Living Adjustment. The amendment will include a change to reflect the meaning.
