This Saturday holds 75th Annual Camp Comeca Cookout

Camp Comeca is inviting the public to a special milestone event— the 75th Annual Comeca Cookout— happening Saturday evening from 5:30 until 8 PM at the camp located near Cozad.

This free, family-friendly event will feature a delicious BBQ meal with smoked ribs, chicken legs, baked beans, coleslaw, honey-butter rolls, SnoCones, and ice cream. Admission and food are completely free, though free will donations to Camp Comeca are welcomed and appreciated.

The evening is packed with fun for all ages, including inflatables, mini golf, GaGa ball, 9-Square in the Air, CornHole, a milk-crate climb, and other classic camp games. Guests can also join staff-led hikes to some of the camp’s most scenic overlooks above Midway Lake.

A unique highlight this year will be John Lillyman painting a live landscape of the camp during the event, with the completed artwork to be auctioned off at the end of the night.

As part of the 75th Anniversary celebration, the evening will also include special displays, commemorative videos, and a featured speaker reflecting on Camp Comeca’s legacy and impact through the decades.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a longtime camper, Camp Comeca says everyone is welcome to join in this evening of food, fun, fellowship, and memories.
