Lions Club benefit is Sunday at Broken Bow municipal building

The Broken Bow Lions Club, in partnership with the Broken Bow Rotary, is inviting the community to come together this weekend to support Susie Walker beginning at 11 AM at the Broken Bow Municipal Building.

The Sunday event will feature a free will donation meal and a silent auction, with proceeds going toward medical expenses that have accumulated over years of ongoing health challenges for Walker.

“Susie’s had a lot of medical issues over the years and most recently had some pretty serious surgeries and has a lot of medical bills,” said Julie Toline with the Broken Bow Lions Club. “And so we would like to have a fundraiser to help her pay her bills.”

Organizers encourage community members to stop by for lunch, browse the silent auction, and consider donating auction items. According to Toline, donations can be made all the way up to the day of the event. “Absolutely. And if you have something you need picked up or you want to drop off, just get ahold of one of us and we’ll grab it from you,” she said.

Those unable to attend can still contribute by donating to a special account established at First Interstate Bank, with checks payable to the ‘Susie Walker Benefit’.

In addition to the Lions Club and Rotary’s support, individuals who want to assist with setup or takedown are more than welcome. “We never turn down help. We always need to set up and tear down and anybody that wants to help, just give one of us a call and we’ll give you a time to be there,” said Toline.
