BROKEN BOW- Off Broadway Apartments finished their newest addition to the facility, an activities room.
Off Broadway Apartments received a $500,000 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services to add an activities room. The idea for this project came in 2019. Plans were ready, but when COVID-19 hit, the project was delayed. Construction didn’t start until October of 2024. 6 years after the original plans were drawn up, the area is ready to be used.

The activities room contains a kitchen area, space for activities, and a private dining area. The plan is for the room to be used for cooking, crafts, and other activities for the residents.
“So the number one pillar here at Off-Broadway, of course, is to take care of our residents first. So I think they’re really enjoying it, from all we hear is they love this area and it’s been a great addition to Off-Broadway,” said Board President Paul Stec.
With the additional space added, it allowed room for other things like an ice cream parlor, a physical therapy room, and an exercise room.

The new area is not just for Off Broadway residents but the public as well.
“We have a private dining area, and that is really not only for our residents but also for the community. So if you ever want to have a card party here or a Bible study or any kind of group meetings, it’s actually free of charge, so you can come and use our facility, and we welcome you to do that,” Stec stated.
