The Broken Bow American Legion juniors and seniors teams traveled to Holdrege Thursday night.
The Bow juniors fell to Holdrege 4-3. Broken Bow led 3-2 going into the fifth inning but Holdrege scored a run in the fifth and a run in the sixth to come back and claim the win. Caenyn Priest pitched well in the start giving up three runs on eight hits and striking out twelve in 5 1/3 innings. Carter Hall, Drew Ellis, Queston Young, and Breken Rynearson combined for the four Broken Bow hits in the game. Ellis drove in all three Broken Bow runs. The Bow juniors drop to 8-6 on the season. The Bow juniors will travel to McCook for a doubleheader on Saturday.
The Bow seniors improved to 11-3 on the season defeating Holdrege 11-2 in five innings on the eight run rule. Dominic Nowak picked up the win pitching four innings giving up one run but did not give up a hit and struck out four. Brice Chaplin pitched the fifth inning giving up a run on one hit and striking out one. Chaplin also collected his second homerun of the season with a solo shot in the third inning. Max Denson was 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. Carter Hall was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI and Drew Ellis also had a multi-hit game finishing 2 for 2 with 3 RBI. The Bow seniors will next host Ogallala on Monday at Paul Brown Field. The game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com with first pitch scheduled for 8 p.m.
