The community is being invited to an event titled “Be a Game Changer” this Sunday (June 22) in Arnold. The event will serve as a fundraiser for several projects in Arnold.
The night of food, games, and friendly fun begins at 5 PM with a free will donation hot dog meal that will go until 7 PM. The competitive part of the night will begin at 6 PM, expected to go until about 9:30 PM.
Nebraska Community Foundation Hometown Interns Gracie Neth and Delaney Rogers said the event was born from the beginning of their internship journey during a trip to Norfolk. They, along with fellow intern Bryn Schwarz, are hoping those of all ages attend.

“So it starts with a free will donation meal of hot dogs and grapes and brownies and chips and then after that there will be three 50 minute rounds of each event, so you can go do trivia or puzzles or the escape rooms and if you want to do all three we can schedule you in so you can go from event to event to event or just one,” said Neth and Rogers.
Teams of six are encouraged to sign up to compete in a pop-up escape room, an Arnold pictorial puzzle, and the trivia contest. Each event’s team registration is $100 or teams that sign up for all three pay $275. Payouts will be given to the winner of each game type as well as a ‘triathlon’ winning team.
“We have a really great community foundation in town and so they will match all the money that is being donated up to half of each entity’s goal. So if someone donates $5, it’s like they’re donating $10 to each of these great projects that will really help build arnold up and continue to make it a wonderful place to live,” said Neth and Rogers.
The event also serves as a Give 4 Custer County fundraiser, eligible for matching funds through the Custer County Foundation program which is taking place through the end of the month.
The four projects Sunday’s event will benefit include:
– New roads in the Arnold cemetery
– A basement renovation at the Finch Memorial Library
– New windows and doors for the Arnold Museum building that is being renovated
– Multi-bay garages for the downtown Riverview Apartments
Early signup to guarantee a spot for your team is encouraged by scanning the QR code on the event flyer or calling Bryn Schwarz at 308-636-6440.
