Road work set to begin Monday between Broken Bow and Merna

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) has announced that road work will begin Monday (June 16) between Broken Bow and Merna if weather permits.

Work will span Highway 2 from near Webster Avenue in Broken Bow, past the Callaway Road and Memorial Drive intersection, and on to Merna just past the Victoria Springs Road turnoff.

Work is expected to take until October and will include grading, seeding, guardrail, electrical, milling, and asphaltic concrete overlay. Lane restrictions, a pilot car, and flaggers will be utilized in conjunction with a 12 foot width restriction. Paulsen, Inc. of Cozad is the contractor for the project.

NDOT is reminding motorists to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
