Golfers from across the state have completed 18 of 36 holes at the 2025 NSAA Boys State Golf Tournament. Opening round action took place in Kearney, Gering, Grand Island, and Columbus for classes A, B, C, and D respectively.

Jack White of Broken Bow was among those competing in Grand Island in the class C tournament turning in a first round score of 81 (9 over par), good enough to be a part of a seven way tie for 43rd.

White was able to knock in a par on 12 of his 18 holes on Wednesday, while only making worse that bogey twice. He will look to carry momentum onto the course Thursday for his final round.

Trey Bartels of Gothenburg also teed off in class C competition Wednesday, scoring an 86 to be tied in 64th place.

In class D competition, Sandhills/Thedford senior Brady Haake had a strong day on the course ending the day tied for 21st. Haake scored a 43 on the front 9 and a 42 on the back 9 for his 85.

Jacob Walker and Benjamin Werner, both of Mullen, ended the day tied at +13, even with Haake at 21st. Both Broncos played mostly par and bogey golf, with Werner highlighting his round with a birdie on the 13th hole.

Competition will continue at all four sites starting Thursday morning with medal winners being awarded when all rounds conclude.
