Motorcycle DMV test site, June meeting both moved by Broken Bow City Council

BROKEN BOW, Neb. – Broken Bow City Council convened for what would be a seven minute long meeting at 6 PM Tuesday night. Councilman Joe Wamsley was absent but excused.

After approval of the consent agenda, the movement of the DMV’s Broken Bow Rider Skills Test (RST) site was approved unanimously from the Melham Park multipurpose field parking lot to Tomahawk Park.

City Administrator Dave Schmidt told those in attendance that the distance to and from the Melham parking lot was cumbersome for traveling to and from for a motorcycle test due to distance, the train tracks, and other reasons. He added that RSTs only take place one to two times per month depending on the need.

The new motorcycle RST area offers the options of the parking lot between the playground and the campground (which could not be used if anybody is parked in the lot) as well as between the Melham Wellness Center and softball field.

Before adjournment Tuesday night, Council approved moving the June 10 council meeting to Wednesday June 11, due to the municipal building and library being occupied.

Tuesday’s meeting adjourned at 6:07 PM. The next Broken Bow City Council is June 11th at 6 PM.
