School Board Meet In The Hall
Board Members Meet In The North Park Elementary Hall. The Next Meeting Will Be In The New Board Room June 16.

The Broken Board of Education held its May 19, 2025, meeting Monday evening at the Broken Bow North Park School. All Board members were present.

Following the approval of the minutes from the previous meeting, Amy Staples provided the Treasurer’s and Claims report. Staples reported that the general fund income in April totaled 604,700.53, and expenses totaled 1,045,189.25, with a balance as of April 30 of 4,170,053.48. The Board unanimously approved the reports.

During district accolades, Superintendent Darren Tobey said it has been an excellent spring season for track. Several students qualified for both high school and junior high state competitions.

During board comments, the Board members agreed that the May 10 graduation outside on the track went smoothly.  Tobey said the Board may want to consider giving future graduating classes the option to have indoor or outdoor ceremonies.

During Administrator Comments, Mr. Tobey was pleased to announce that the construction and renovation project is on schedule, and the gym floor will arrive this week. He also noted the auditorium is nearing completion. The school will be open for tours during alumni activities the second weekend in July.

Mr. Tobey thanked the Board for their efforts and said it had been a really good school year, even with all that had gone on with construction.

During the agenda’s action and discussion items, the Board approved several policies that members reviewed earlier during their May work session.

The next board meeting is June 16 at 6 p.m. in the new boardroom. There will not be a work session in June.
