On Thursday, April 24th, Alexxis R. Shimko, age 29 of Broken Bow, appeared in Custer County District Court on two felony cases.
The defendant’s attorney, Christian Gosselin, announced that plea agreements with the State had been reached in both cases. In the case from November of 2024, Shimko pleaded guilty to four counts of possession of controlled substances, all Class IV felonies. The defendant also pleaded guilty in the second case to another Class IV felony, one count of possession of a controlled substance. That case stems from an arrest in January of this year.
Judge Karin Noakes accepted the plea agreements and found the defendant guilty of all charges. Noakes said sentencing in the cases will be deferred subject to the defendant’s successful completion of problem-solving court.
