A red ribbon was sliced at 715 South E Street in Broken Bow on Friday afternoon, signaling the start of a new adventure for Dr. Riley Thomsen at his new business Thomsen Chiropractic. The UNK and Cleveland University of Kansas City product started business earlier this month before cutting the ribbon with the Chamber.
Thomsen, who calls Amherst his hometown, said that the care that he received growing up from Dr. Dority in Kearney inspired him to pursue a career in chiropractic care.
“As I got older I realized that private, small clinics are able to give really good hands-on personalized care. They can take their time with you rather than some of the bigger health management organizations where they rush you through. Which, again, those places are needed for sure but I wanted to be in a small setting, or personal, really take care of people and it’s kind of why I went chiropractic in Broken Bow,” said Thomsen.
It has been a quick few months for Thomsen and his fiancé, who will be married this October. The graduation cap was worn just this last December, but Thomsen said that looking for a small town like Broken Bow to call home for his clinic made the quick journey okay.
Thomsen Chiropractic is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM. Wednesday hours run until 8 PM, and some Saturday hours are on the schedule at times as well. In addition to traditional chiropractic services, Thomsen said he’s proud to offer DOT and CDL physicals as well. He added that he takes cash, card, and check right now and has everything ready to go on his side to accept insurance but just needs some boxes checked on the approval side.
