Ansley/Litchfield and SEM advanced to the finals of the D2-7 boys basketball sub district tournament on Tuesday. Top seed Ansley/Litchfield advanced with a 60-17 win over Elba. The Spartans were led by Landon Schulte who had a career night knocking down five 3’s and finishing with a game high 33 points. Luke Bailey also finished in double figures with 15. A/L will face SEM in the sub district final. The Mustangs held off Anselmo-Merna 53-40. Anselmo-Merna led 12-6 at the end of the first quarter but SEM came back to outscore AM 21-8 in the 2nd quarter. The Mustangs never trailed in the second half on their way to picking up their 10th win of the season. SEM was led by Isaac O’Neill who had a game high 15 points. Anselmo-Merna was led by Kayden Record who had a team high 14. Ansley/Litchfield will face SEM Thursday night for the sub district title in Litchfield. The two have met twice this season with Ansley/Litchfield winning both meetings. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. on Thursday and will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. At the C2-8 sub district at Cross County High School, top seed Cross County defeated Arcadia/Loup City 64-36. On the other side of the bracket, Sutton knocked off South Loup 58-48.
At the D1-6 sub district at Central Valley High School, Riverside defeated Twin Loup 59-29. On the other side of the bracket, Central Valley defeated CWC 62-44.
At the D2-9 sub district at Hyannis, Sandhills/Thedford advanced to Thursday’s sub district final with a 51-35 win over Mullen. Sandhills/Thedford will face top seed Hyannis for the sub district title. Hyannis defeated Arthur County 66-43.
At the D1-11 sub district at North Platte St. Pat’s, Paxton edged Sandhills Valley 32-31. On the other side of the bracket, St. Pat’s defeated Sutherland 66-37.
At the C1-7 sub district, top seed Cozad advanced with a 75-31 win over Minden. Cozad will face Chase County in the sub final. Chase County defeated Central City 66-56.
At the C1-9 sub district, top seed Fillmore Central defeated Gothenburg 50-39. On the other side of the bracket, Doniphan-Trumbull defeated Centura 50-31.
