Boys State Wrestling Day One – Broken Bow / Class C Area Recap

The Class C boys state wrestling tournament began Thursday at the CHI Health Center in Omaha. Broken Bow’s Cal Wells advanced to the Class C state semifinals at 215 lbs.  Wells won by fall over Jose Ramirez-Aguilar of Gibbon to advance.  With two wins on day one, Wells is now 51-0 on the season.

Kelstyn Lindner, Cash Watson, and Aidan Markham each advanced to the quarterfinal round on Thursday.  Lindner went up against Jace Martin of Wood River in the quarters.  Martin advanced to the semis by technical fall.  Lindner will next wrestle in the second round of consolations on Friday.  Watson faced off against Dakota Gibson of Doniphan-Trumbull with Gibson winning by a 3-2 decision. Markham would meet Parker Chavez of Valentine in the quarterfinals.  Chavez would get the win by major decision.

Those who dropped their opening round match and will now compete in the first round of consolations on Friday were Bowen Ridder (106), Braxon Rynearson (144), and Cobe Wells (150).
